Australia Day, with thanks to all Australians

I give thanks for the people whose long occupation of this land made it’s plants and animals and birds what they were when my ancestors arrived.



I give thanks that I can walk alongside these people today.


I give thanks for my ancestors, who – by choice or force – left their homes so far away and sailed for these white shores, without iPhones or internet.


I give thanks for what Australia is today – a land of many peoples and unique wildlife and wide open spaces.


I give thanks for my family and friends with whom I share this special land.


I give thanks for today.
