After watching the movie “Still Alice”, a loving portrayal of Alice's journey through alzheimer’s, I wondered what is left when all we have is the immediate present and our innate response to it.

The key character portrayed her distress at losing control of her world. Yet she entered a place of peace and stillness when her control was utterly lost.
What was left? Her innate loving self. That was the whole of her. No plans. No memories. No control. Just herself.
I wondered if this innate self is the one whom I call on when I’m stretched to the limits of my endurance; the loving one who is ultimately resilient; the one who is the essential Wendy…
